Not only an Engineer...

People in the engineering and computing world often get pigeon-holed as being “one trick computing ponies”; I have always intended to be the exception that proves the rule.

This section allows you to view the different aspects of what it takes to be more than an engineer

A brief snap-shot of what I do

Judo

Probably my most significant hobby to date. My Judo career since 1994 consists of player, coach, team captain and it doesn't show signs of stopping. For more information click here.

Music Piano/Keyboard

Primarily my interest lies in Jazz Piano, having taken interest from the greats such as Dave Brubeck, Duke Ellington and of course my teacher the legendary Keith Monk. I have performed in many concerts and bands including the Luis Riley Big Band and the supporting band for the University of Bristol Hiatt Baker Ball Musical 2004.

Skiing

I have been lucky enough to Ski in both France and Switzerland, travelling by coach and by air. My weapon of choice is a set of Salamon SB Pro Snowblades, a 99.9cm stunt ski designed for ultimate jumps and tricks. Click here for a video of my run down the SnowPark

What else...

When all is said and done I want to look back and say "yeah...I did that!" so I've always had a go at whatever comes along. I've been dinghy sailing, glyding, pot-holing, bmxing, scramble biking, climbing and I still want to do more.
